About Cilo Cybin

From South Africa's first GACP cannabis licence to the JSE Main Board.

Cilo Cybin Pharmaceutical began as a regulated medical cannabis pioneer and grew into a vertically integrated cannabinoid pharmaceutical platform with GACP cultivation, GMP manufacturing, and listed-company governance.

Origin story

A South African cannabis pharmaceutical company built before the market was obvious.

Cilo Cybin Pharmaceutical was established in 2018, at a time when South Africa's regulated medical cannabis industry was still being defined. The company was built with a simple conviction: cannabis would only become a serious medical and pharmaceutical category if it could be cultivated, processed, documented, and released through controlled systems.

In 2020, Cilo Cybin Pharmaceutical obtained South Africa's first Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) licence to cultivate medical cannabis. That licence gave the company a regulated foundation for producing traceable source material for downstream pharmaceutical manufacturing.

By 2021, the business had developed into South Africa's first fully vertically integrated cannabis company with both GACP cultivation and GMP manufacturing licences. The platform brought cultivation, extraction, refinement, formulation, packaging, quality control, and commercial supply into one accountable operating model.

Capital markets

From AltX entry to the JSE Main Board.

In 2024, Cilo Cybin Holdings entered the public markets through an AltX listing as a medical-cannabis-focused SPAC structure. The listing created a public-company platform around a regulated pharmaceutical cannabis operating business.

In 2025, the group transitioned from AltX to the JSE Main Board. That move strengthened the public-market profile of the business and positioned Cilo Cybin as a listed pharmaceutical cannabis platform with governance, reporting discipline, and regulated manufacturing capability.

The significance is not only the listing itself. It is the combination of public-company oversight with a vertically integrated GACP and GMP operating base: cultivation, extraction, refinement, formulation, packaging, quality review, and partner supply under one controlled platform.
